Narrating the Story about Horticulture along “the Belt and Road”

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 16, 2017 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/– 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo emerged at Beijing Week at the Expo 2017 Astana on June 16. In the China Pavilion, Ye Dahua, deputy director-general of the Beijing Expo 2019 Coordination Bureau, introduced 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo towards the countries participating in the Expo 2017 Astana.

At the opening ceremony of Beijing Week, nine exhibition boards presented the ecological blueprint of the International Horticultural Expo 2019. Meanwhile, the elaborately-produced cartoon version of promo for the Beijing Expo 2019 was unveiled in Kazakhstan mainstream media, in which a pair of charmingly naive mascots – Little Bud and Little Flower – tell the stories of 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo and sing to welcome overseas guests to the Beijing Expo 2019 to enjoy the green life and the beauty of Beijing.

The Beijing International Horticultural Expo is under all-round construction in 2017. Now the preparation of domestic participation in Beijing International Horticultural Expo has entered the substantial phase. The Chinese Exhibition Area of the Beijing Expo 2019 will begin on-site construction in the second half year. Beijing is making efforts to accomplish 80 percent of the recruitment of international exhibition and to basically complete the recruitment of countries which will build outdoor gardens. The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo is an international horticultural expo of the highest level hosted by the Chinese government and Beijing city. The Expo will be held from April 29 to October 7, 2019, with a duration of 162 days.

Air China, one of the global partners who first signed contracts with 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo, opened round-trip flights between Beijing and Astana on June 1, 2017.

“Beautiful Beijing Shining at the Expo” – Beijing Week at Expo 2017 Astana Opens on June 16

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 16, 2017 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/– On June 16, with the theme of “Beautiful Beijing Shining at the Expo”, Beijing Week opened in the China pavilion of Expo 2017 Astana. It is another opportunity for Beijing to show its ancient demeanor to the world after Expo 2005 Aichi, Expo 2010 Shanghai and Expo 2015 Milan. It will play a positive role in stimulating Beijing to participate in the construction of “the Belt and Road”.

Beijing is the first Chinese city appearing at Expo 2017 Astana. At the opening ceremony, programs such as “Rustic Beijing Splendid China”, “Bouncy Ball Acrobatics” and “Tai Chi” brought Beijing Opera, acrobatics, martial arts and other Beijing elements into the Expo. During the reception, a Beijing tourism photo exhibition, the folk music performances, Beijing cuisine, etc., helped the guests understand Beijing’s tradition and culture while “viewing Beijing sceneries, tasting Beijing dishes and listening to Beijing tones”.

Combined with the theme of Expo 2017 “Future Energy”, Beijing Week also demonstrates smart energy that promotes Beijing becoming City of Double Olympics for hosting 2022 Olympic Winter Games and also helps to achieve the goal of 300 million people participating in ice-snow sports.

Li Luxia, vice-chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), said at the opening ceremony that heritages of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games would be fully utilized and transformed into venues which could be used for both winter sports and summer sports. For instance, the Water Cube will be turned into the Ice Cube, which is a representative of the transformation plans, and people can gain immersive experience in the Ice Cube by VR glasses.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman has said that a high level of cooperation and synergy exists among armed forces and through our synergistic efforts we achieved remarkable success in war against terrorism.

This he said while addressing the convocation ceremony of 30th Air War Course held at PAF Air War College, Karachi.

He said that Pakistan Air Force has accepted every challenge and demonstrated remarkable heights of professional excellence.

Beside officers from Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy, the graduates included officers from twelve friendly countries Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe.

The ceremony was attended by various high ranking civil and military officers and diplomats from different countries.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that his family has served the purpose of rule of law in the country by appearing before the JIT formed by the Supreme Court to probe into the Panama Case.

He was talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Saturday after recording his statement before the JIT.

He said unlike the military dictators, we, the elected representatives respect the law and the constitution.

He said that he has recorded his statement before the JIT with utmost respect. He said the elected prime minister wrote a new chapter the other day in the country’s history by appearing before the JIT. He said today is another historic day when for the first time an elected provincial chief minister presented himself before the investigation team.

Shahbaz Sharif said it is not the first time that his family has been subjected to accountability but in eras of PPP and military dictatorship, it was subjected to accountability.

The Punjab Chief Minister said there are no corruption cases against his family and the case before the JIT belongs to their personal business.

Referring to the development projects being executed in present government, Shahbaz Sharif said that two hundred billion rupees have been saved by ensuring transparency in power plants and orange train. He said Sharif family greatly adores this motherland and they have not plundered any money. He said we have returned all the loans of Ittefaq Foundaries.

Earlier, when the provincial chief minister arrived at the federal judicial academy, the secretariat of JIT, he was accompanied by Hamza Sharif, Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif recorded his statement before the JIT. Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz, the sons of the Prime Minister have also appeared before the JIT in connection with the investigation.

Rescue 1122 has completed its preparation to cope with any type of emergency during the upcoming flood season in the districts of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar.

Rescue 1122 Emergency Officer, Asif Rahim Channar told our Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur Correspondent that Punjab Disaster Management Authority has provided six inflatable boats with complete accessories to use during floods season.

King Salman meets Turkish foreign minister in Makkah

Makkah(IINA) � Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman holds talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah on Friday night. The two leaders reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries. They also discussed the latest developments in the region. Those who attended the meeting also included Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Musaed Al-Aiban, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nizar Bin Obaid Madani, Minister of State for Arab Gulf Affairs Thamer Al-Sobhan, Saudi Ambassador to Turkey Waleed Al-Khuraiji, and Turkish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Yunus Demirer.
